The Pro Deo Care group is having its AGM, God willing, on 23 June 2022 after a 2-year Covid hiatus.
I humbly and gratefully look back on the past 6 years as chairperson of this dynamic non-profit. We:
- Grew our organization from a one-church charity committee to a fully non-denominational interchurch network that welcomes and involves all the Christian organizations on the KZN south coast.
- Went through the teething process of establishing a registered NPO, meeting all legal requirements.
- Expanded our service delivery area from Hibberdene and surrounding areas to Port Edward and surrounding areas.
- Initiated and established a home-based care service for the elderly, sick and frail who cannot afford this very expensive care.
- Continued with our very popular monthly wellness clinics and got one going in Port Shepstone as well.
- Connected with and built marketing networks with churches, businesses and individuals.
- Standardized our branding and developed a policy framework meeting all the legal requirements for an NPO.
- Entered the virtual sphere and established our digital presence on social media platforms.
All the accolades must go to my very committed and hardworking management team. It was a privilege to work with you. A special thank you to Carodene from Domantra who is holding our hands and leading our social media journey.
I also salute each and every volunteer, who gave their time and money to ensure the realization of our vision.
A heartfelt thank you to all our loyal sponsors over the years, individual care club members, our cycling heroes, Food Lovers Market, and all the churches for their donations.
I also want to extend a very special thank you to San Lameer and Hidden Treasures who help us kept the boat afloat when all other fundraising initiatives came to a standstill during Covid pandemic.
I proudly step aside to make space for a new leader. I wish him or her the very best.
God bless all future Pro Deo efforts.
